LOCATION: Wayland Baptist University (WBU) – Online

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Adjunct Instructor will work under the supervision of the Dean. As a part-time instructor of WBU, the individual will represent the University’s academic and spiritual emphases to the students, faculty, staff, and the community in a manner consistent with the University’s mission and purpose.
SPECIFIC TASKS & DUTIES:
- Prepare and teach one 3-hour course in graduate or doctoral leadership.
- Assist in promoting the academic programs and involvement with community activities.
- Attend scheduled department meetings.
The above statements are not a complete list of responsibilities and duties performed by employees in this position. Employee may perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean of the School, or the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A commitment to and an agreement with the purposes and philosophy of Christian higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas/Texas Baptists in general and Wayland Baptist University in particular.
Education:
- Terminal Degree in Leadership or a closely related field is required for Graduate courses and preferred for Undergraduate.
Experience and Knowledge:
- University and graduate teaching experience as an instructor is preferred.
- Endorsement by the Dean of the School of Humanities and Leadership and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Skills and Abilities:
- Written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with computer software and educational projection equipment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of the hire date to establish his or her identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Naturalization Services. Employees must be able and willing to travel. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
